Nigra sum, sed formosa, filiae Jerusalem.	שחורה אני ונאוה בנות ירושלים.		I am black but comely, daughters of Jerusalem.
Ideo dilexit me rex et introduxit me in cubiculum suum	שמח בי המלך כי הביאני אל חדריו		Therefore, the King delighted in me,

Surge, amica mea, et veni.	קומי לך רעייתי ולכי לך.		Arise my love and come, for lo, the winter is past,
Jam hiems transiit, imber abiit, et recessit.	כי הנה הסתיו עבר הגשם חלף לו.		the rain is over and gone,
Flores apparuerunt in terra nostra,	ניצנים ניראו בארץ,		the flowers appear on the earth,
Tempus putationis advenit	עת הזמיר הגיע.		the time of pruning is come

א,ה  שְׁחוֹרָה אֲנִי וְנָאוָה, בְּנוֹת יְרוּשָׁלִָם
א,ד   מָשְׁכֵנִי אַחֲרֶיךָ נָּרוּצָה  הֱבִיאַנִי הַמֶּלֶךְ חֲדָרָיו,
נָגִילָה וְנִשְׂמְחָה בָּךְ נַזְכִּירָה דֹדֶיךָ מִיַּיִן, מֵישָׁרִים אֲהֵבוּךָ.
ב,י    עָנָה דוֹדִי, וְאָמַר לִי:  קוּמִי לָךְ רַעְיָתִי יָפָתִי וּלְכִי-לָךְ.
ב,יא כִּי-הִנֵּה הַסְּתָו עָבָר  הַגֶּשֶׁם חָלַף הָלַךְ לוֹ.
ב,יב  הַנִּצָּנִים נִרְאוּ בָאָרֶץ,
