mit Freuden es selig in dem Himmel klang.	בחדווה הצטלצל שירם במרום.		with blessed joy it rang in heaven.
Sie jauchzten fröhlich auch dabei:	צהלה ברכתם ובקול אז בישרו:		They shouted too for joy
daß Petrus sei von Sünden frei!	הנה פטרוס חופשי מחטאו.		that Peter was free from sin!
Und als der Herr Jesus zu Tische saß,	ובשבת ישוע אל שולחנו לעת ערב		And as Lord Jesus sat at the table
mit seinen zwölf Jüngern das Abendmahl aß,	עם תריסר תלמידיו לסעודת הרעים,		with his twelve disciples and ate the evening meal,
da sprach der Herr Jesus: "Was stehst du denn hier?	אמר האדון: "למה תעמוד?		Lord Jesus said: "Why do you stand here?
Wenn ich dich anseh', so weinest du mir!"	אני מביט בך ואתה בוכה."		When I look at you, you are weeping!"
"Und sollt' ich nicht weinen, du gütiger Gott?	"איך לא אבכה, אדון רחום וחנון,		"And should I not weep, kind God?
Ich hab' übertreten die zehn Gebot!	ואני את עשרת הדיברות הפרתי.		I have violated the ten commandments!
Ich gehe und weine ja bitterlich!	תועה אני ובוכה מרה,		I wander and weep bitterly!
Ach komm und erbarme dich über mich!"	חוסה נא ורחם עלי!"		O come and take pity on me!"
"Hast du denn übertreten die zehen Gebot,	"אם את עשרת הדיברות הפרת,		"If you have violated the ten commandments,
so fall auf die Knie und bete zu Gott!	על ברכיך פול ולאל שא תפילה.		then fall on your knees and pray to God!
Liebe nur Gott in all Zeit!	אהב את האל תמיד בכל עת,		Love only God for all time!
So wirst du erlangen die himmlische Freud'."	וחדוות מרומים לך תהיה נחלה."		So will you gain heavenly joy."
Die himmlische Freud' ist eine selige Stadt,	חדוות מרומים היא עיר מבורכת,		The heavenly joy is a blessed city,
die himmlische Freud', die kein Ende mehr hat!	חדוות מרומים אין לה קץ ותכלה.		the heavenly joy that has no end!
Die himmlische Freude war Petro bereit't,	חדוות מרומים נתן ישוע לפטרוס		The heavenly joy was granted to Peter
durch Jesum und allen zur Seligkeit.	ושמחת נצחים לכל בני האדם.		through Jesus, and to all mankind for eternal bliss.
